PMC - Basic

Course Description: PMC can be manipulated and formed in much the same way as ceramic or plasticine clays, and when fired becomes solid metal. This makes it an ideal material to make jewelry and sculpture that has an “organic” free-form look that is difficult to achieve using traditional metal sheet and wire fabrication techniques. This class teaches basic skills for forming, handling, joining, and torch-firing fine silver PMC.

Prerequisite: Basic Silversmithing or other class teaching torch control and safety.

Notes: Recommended projects: textured multilayer pendant, pin/broach, or earrings.
